Welcome to Griffin First United Methodist Preschool. We are
a standards-based program serving children ages 12 months through Kindergarten.
Here at First United Methodist Preschool, our faculty members strive to provide
an enriching program of best practices for academic, social, motor and
spiritual development. Our classrooms provide a nurturing place for children to
develop their literacy and math skills, as well and engage in creative
pursuits. Music and chapel are special weekly events for the children, and
there are opportunities for experiential learning through field trips and
guests. We offer Spanish lessons weekly to our 3's through Kindergarten, and STEM for 2's-Kindergarten. All children benefit from our library, Farm to Table garden plots, drumming sessions, and art classes.
We are a certified "Program of Excellence for Young Children" with the North Georgia Conference of Methodist Preschools. This certification means that we have undergone a thorough process of self-study and improvement towards meeting specific criteria and guidelines, followed by a peer review. Criteria include meeting certain standards in personnel, administration, curriculum facilities, finances, safety, programs, relationships with families, and communication with the church and community.
We have been selected as "Best of the Best" Preschools for Spalding County for 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018 by readers of The Griffin Daily News. We appreciate this honor which represents support from the community in our program.
